The Blue Ridge Mountains are so named because of the trees that run along their top. The mild elevation means forest can thrive here, and the trees release a certain chemical that appears azure on the horizon. The range itself runs all the way from Georgia to Pennsylvania, and great land can be found all along here for a relatively low cost. The land is great for hunting, fishing, cabins, or really anything you can imagine, just make sure to check local regulations before you get your heart set on any one project. Technically, the Blue Ridge range includes land available in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, South Carolina, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. These states vary considerably in terms of laws and taxes, and even the various counties that make up the Blue Ridge communities can be radically different even within the span of a few miles. With the variety though, you'll be sure to find mountain land that fits your needs.
