Generally thought of as a city for young students and professionals, there are some great values and pockets of mountain territory at good prices, along with all the picturesque natural beauty you’d expect. Boulder is home to the University of Colorado, which is the largest school in the state. It is located at the foothills of the Rockies which make for a gorgeous backdrop around town. The elevation in this area is around five thousand feet, and the population is only around ninety thousand, making it the eleventh largest city in the state of Colorado. The relative youth of the city means that there is quite an active nightlife and plenty of outdoor activity centers to plan your time around, including river rafting, rock climbing, hiking, and many other activities. Mountain land here costs a premium but is likely to appreciate well given the ever expanding population and university in the area.
